Northbound is a self-service tool that writes draft travel itineraries from information you provide. By placing an order you agree to these Terms.
Northbound does not make bookings, sell tickets or guarantee availability of anything. Itineraries are produced automatically by an AI writing model under instructions and local-knowledge notes we have written. Places named are intended to be real, but businesses close, trails are rerouted, roads wash out, and rules change. Hours, prices, fees, ferry and shuttle schedules and reservation windows are intentionally not stated and must be verified by you before relying on them. The itinerary is a starting point for your own planning, not a guarantee.
Travel — and hiking, boating, swimming and driving in particular — carries risk. You are responsible for judging conditions, your party's abilities, weather, tides and equipment, and for following all park rules, posted signs and local laws. Nothing in an itinerary is a representation that an activity is safe for you.
Upon payment you receive a personal, non-exclusive license to use, print and share the itinerary with your traveling party. You may not resell it or use it to operate a competing service.
Prices are in US dollars and charged once via Stripe at checkout. Itineraries are delivered on a web page linked from the checkout confirmation and, where email delivery succeeds, by email. Writing takes several minutes. Revisions, where included in your tier, are limited to the number stated and rewrite the plan from your original answers and your notes.

The service and itineraries are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northbound disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental damages, including losses arising from closures, cancellations, weather, injury, or travel costs.
Do not submit content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to share. We may refuse or cancel orders that abuse the service.
We may update these Terms; the version posted at the time of your order applies to that order.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maine, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at the support email and allow 30 days to resolve it.
